What’s GypsyBug? And what makes it different?

What’s a business directory?
It’s similar to a “Yellow Pages.” GypsyBug’s an online business directory. Consumers visit GypsyBug to find a business in a certain category. There are hundreds of business categories, such as “accounting,” “salons and spas,” “advertising/promotions,” “chiropractic,” etc.
What’s MyGypsyBug.com?
It’s simple, and a bit complicated. Simply, we are a marketing portal for GypsyBug. MyGypsyBug is owned by MANE World Promotions, Inc. and is not part of GypsyBug, Inc. However we work closely with GypsyBug to provide an easy step by step enrollment process for advertisers in a United States and Canadian advertising platform. We work with GypsyBug's members and businesses in providing linkable, fully search engine optimized, websites to track their visitors and to help teach people and business owners better internet promotional concepts for advertising their businesses. MANE World Promotion also owns and operates a new nationwide City Directory called City-Centers.com. Each MyGypsyBug subscriber has a link at the bottom of each of their pages in their MyGypsyBug web site. These links point to your hometown City-Centers portal. These links give your MyGypsyBug site relevance to your MyGypsyBug website and if you are the Host Master of your city you also get reciprocal link popularity. City-Centers is a free program designed first-and-foremost to help create home based businesses. We hope to help parents earn enough income so at least one parent can stay home and raise their children!
Why do we say that the consumer has "recourse?"
After you use a business listed on GypsyBug, you get to go into that business’s ad and rate them and make comments for the world to see. It sure beats going to your regular yellow pages and crossing out that business listing so that you won't use them again! Now you can warn others or tell them that this is the one to use. With the GypsyBug Directory, the businesses listed can brag that they’re the best and willing to prove it!
What does it cost the consumer to use GypsyBug?
Nothing at all! That’s the beauty of it. Consumers WANT to come to GypsyBug and see your ad because, to them, it’s much better than using their phone book. A phone book can’t tell them whether a business is a rip-off. A phone book can’t prove that your business has 142 satisfied customers. But GypsyBug can.
What does it cost me, the business owner, to run an ad on GypsyBug?
Your cost for the first month is only $19.95. That’s much less than most newspapers or magazines would charge you for the same ad. Even better, your cost can go down each month if you recommend GypsyBug to other businesses.
How hard is it to reduce my monthly advertising cost?
It's easier than stealing a bone from a bulldog, but not as easy as slipping on ice. In other words, you’ll need to do a little work, but the work won’t be that hard. Invite a few other businesses that you think are the best in their industry. Each one who joins the GypsyBug Directory will reduce your monthly cost by $1. Not only that, but if you recruit a business and they recruit 2 businesses, then all 3 of them are in your advertising group... And your advertising cost goes down $3. This can keep going until you’re paying nothing the rest of your life to advertise on GypsyBug. Heck, it's even possible for GypsyBug to have to pay you MORE than you’re paying for your ad. That will help cover your ad costs in other directories that are charging you a lot more.
What do I have to do to qualify to become listed with GypsyBug?
We only allow one business from each profession per region to advertise. Simply check the directory and see if there’s already someone listed in your category. If there’s not, then get in NOW!
What if there’s already someone listed in my region and my industry?
Well, you may want to check other categories to see if there’s another one appropriate for your business. Let’s say, for example, that you’re a lender. If there’s already someone in your region listed under “Real Estate Loans,” you might list instead under “Finance” or “Lenders” or “Home Improvement.”
What’s a “region?”
There’s a slight gray area here… A region’s established by how far the average person would travel to use this type of serves or product. For example, how far would you drive to have your hair done? 10 minutes, maybe? So that means we can list hair salons if they’re a 10 minute drive apart. On the other hand, how far would the average person drive to buy a new motor home? Now, in this case, most people would have no problem driving an hour. How about a real estate agent? Most people want someone right in their neighborhood. So we need a good agent in every single community...but just one!
Who’ll find my ad on GypsyBug?
Soon the name GypsyBug will be a common household name, just like “Amazon” and “eBay.” For now, we’ve just started hiring GypsyBug representatives all over the US and Canada to go out into their community and spread the word. Not only are we listed in Google and Yahoo, but we have radio ads running on multiple radio stations. And we’ll continue to spread across the country. In addition, you’ll be listed in the printed directory that will be in each and every store front business that’s a member of GypsyBug. This will let the general public see what businesses are available in their community. It’s the reps’ job to distribute these monthly.
What if someone writes a bad comment about my business?
This could actually work in your favor. Let's say that someone goes into your business and walks up and down the aisles looking for help, but can’t find anyone. They go home and tell this to the world. You simply go into the comment and state something like, "We’re very sorry that you had this experience in our store. Then next time you come in, ask for me (Bob) and I’ll help you personally. I'm the store manager.” We know that you can’t satisfy 100% of your customers 100% of the time…but what you can do is be concerned about 100% of your customers 100% of the time. That’s all it takes to show that you're the best and willing to prove it!
Do I have to invite other businesses to join?
Absolutely not! We hope you’re advertising in our directory because you feel you’re the best in your industry and you’re willing to prove it. And if you want to lower your cost, we have a way for you to do that. But you aren’t required to refer businesses to us.
How long has GypsyBug been in Business?
We began planning GypsyBug in 2003. We launched GypsyBug online in November 2005. We began hiring GypsyBug reps on November 1, 2006. So we’re brand new. That means that this is the perfect time for you to advertise your business with us—before your competition does.
What competition is there to GypsyBug?
None! And…we mean none! No other business directory in the US or Canada gives the consumer recourse. No other directory lets businesses brag that they’re the best in their industry and willing to prove it. On top of all that, we reward advertisers for helping our directory grow.
How can I pay for my ad?
We’re fully automated to keep our costs down, so everything’s done online. We accept Visa, American Express, MasterCard, and PayPal. We recommend using Paypal. We’ve partnered with PayPal because we feel they’re the most secure and ethical online banking system. If you don’t already have a PayPal account, then sign up. It’s free. If you have any problems, we’ll help you. We’ll use PayPal to send you money for any referrals you make.
How long will it take my ad to appear online?
Click on "Advertise with Us" on the home page. Fill out the information requested. In about 10 minutes, everyone will be able to see your full color ad. Your printed listing will appear in the community countertop directory the next month.
What type of commitment do I have to make to advertise?
You can stop advertising at any time. We only want the best of the best. If we locked advertisers into a contract, that would encourage businesses that aren’t up to our standards to remain in our directory. We don't want that! So we give everyone an easy way out.
Is there someone available to help me if I have problems?
Yes. We’re available every day from 7am to 7pm PST. You can also check the directory for "GypsyBug State Reps" in your area and give them a call… They’ll be happy to help you.
What if there’s no rep near me?
Would you or someone you know like to be one? You’d be introducing the world’s most powerful business directory to all the businesses in your community. And you’d be well-compensated.
What if I don't see a category that I want to list my business under?
If you know of a category that isn’t yet listed, call us toll-free or email us and we’ll have it available within the hour in most cases. We want every type of business in every industry represented in every community. Tell us what you want.
